I question the composition of the steel, however, as this pitcher began rusting within a few months. It has been washed and dried by hand only. Not sure what the problem is, but it turned out to be a waste of money. Can't recommend it.

(More customer reviews)If you're serious about getting a real blender, it comes down to Blendtec and Vita-Mix. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these "real" blenders. All the others are fine, I guess. I'd been making do with a classic Waring and a cheap new thing that promised to circulate the contents in some kind of wave motion. Whatever. They both made enough noise to drown out a helicopter landing on my roof, and I seriously feared they'd fly apart and I'd die from shrapnel wounds. And they were such a pain to clean that I regretted pulling them out of the cupboard in the first place. I needed something better, and man, did I find it!
I chose the Blendtec for the following reasons:
-it's smaller
-no knobs or crevices to clean or gum up
-square pitcher pours better
-3 HP motor (!)
-excellent design and choice of materials
-Vita-Mix is incredibly ugly -- I wonder if that was on purpose or just some unfortunate accident?
-relatively quiet -- if you want to hear loud, come over and I'll dig out my old blenders and make you a smoothie
-Extremely easy to clean
Yes, I love it and haven't found anything about it I'd change.

Liss 2-qt. Liss Professional Soda Siphon, Polished Stainless. Review

(More customer reviews)I've had aluminum selzer chargers before and would not buy another one -- they always corrode at the threaded seal, and probably inside as well. That's why I bought this stainless charger. Overall I am pleased with it, but from the beginning I've haven't been able to charge the bottle with two CO2 cylinders, one after the other, as directed in the instructions. If I fill the bottle with water and try to do this, the second charger does not fully enter the bottle -- there is apparently not enough room -- and so the overpressurized bottle releases the "excess" CO2 via some sort of safety pressure-release feature (I am well aware of the fill tube in the bottle, which ensures air space for the CO2 and prevents overfilling with water; even if I fill with water as directed and then pour out water, I still can't get two chargers into the bottle). I've found the way around this and now have a comfortable routine. I fill the bottle with water, charge it with ONE CO2 cylinder, and place the bottle in the refrigerator. Later, after the CO2 has dissolved into the water, and after I take one glass of selzer from the bottle, I charge the bottle with the second CO2 cylinder. This works fine for me, and the 2-liter capacity is really great to have. But it does bug me a little that the bottle can't take two chargers initially. I also have a vintage Czech glass seltzer bottle (with wire mesh casing) that I use along with this stainless bottle (both are always in service on the door of the refrigerator...) This glass bottle is very reliable, but the one-liter capacity is limiting. So, if you don't have patience for the above process to accomodate the quirks of the 2-liter stainless bottle, I suggest getting the 1-liter version of it. The quality and design are good, though I do agree with another reviewer that the lever handle seems a little flimsy. But after a year of use, mine is fine and I have confidence that it will last if not mistreated.

I have tried to contact Kitchen-Aid for over a month, wrote 4 EM via the KitchenAid customer support Website, and beside their promise to answer within 3 business day, I have yet to hear from them.
I'm truly disappointed with their customer support and the RSVA.

What a deception!
Probably the worst shredder I ever used.
I purchase this product in the idea that KitchenAid was a good brand (by experience), but I must admit that I have the feeling that I paid $50 for a very, very poor shredder, which should be sold $15 maximum. A $7 Walmart hand shredder makes a better job.
I have the feeling that KitchenAid just ripped me off.
I'm a mechanical engineer and I love to cook, and I'm normally the type to buy one excellent knife instead of 2 poor ones, but this time, I was fooled.
So , let's review the product:
First of all, the cones are not stainless steel, but regular steel, badly chromed.
It means that, one day or another, they will rust.
How can you tell? Use a magnet, if it is not sticking, it's a 18/10 stainless steel. (18% Chrome + 10% Nickel, a TRUE Stainless Steel)
Try with your kitchenaid mixing bowl, and you'll see.
It also means that if you ever try to sharpen the slicing blades, you'll take off the chrome and it WILL rust very quickly.
I'm sorry, but a brand like Kitchenaid should AT LEAST, provides Stainless Steel cones. Especially at 50 bucks a piece. (and I suppose that's why it is stated HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY), not allowed to use regular steel in a restaurant)
The blades are either dull, unevenly sharpened, or not at all(sides). It mashes or puree very well, but the cuts are uneven and messy. I just wanted a slicer, not a musher.
The sharpening on (my) slicing cones is visibly uneven. one side slices, the other not.
The gap between the cones and the body is too big, food goes in, get pushed in by the dull cones to end up in a mess.
The cones rotate unevenly, off balance, which adds to the previous mess.
The length of the blades is smaller than the size of the spout. (the cutting length should be a least the size of the spout, not smaller )
In short: everything that goes is those corners is miserably mashed So, as a result, in my opinion: buy something else.
Add $20 and buy yourself something decent. Plus, the attachment is so bulky that a food processor will not take much space.
My grade on a 10 scale: 3
Probably the worst shredder I ever used.
And if you ever decide to buy one , please contact me , for $25, you'll have an almost brand new one.

I followed the directions, pluged it in and turned it on and I got a very nice cool breeze and was pleased. Then much to my surprise, it didn't take fifteen minutes and I noticed that the air was warming fast and the ice was gone. this thing went through 20 lbs of ice like eggs through a hen. If you only want cool for a few minutes, this machine is for you. If you want cool for 20 or 30 minutes or longer, ya better buy somrhting else cause all your gonna get from this is a want for your money back, witch I haven't seen yet. Good Luck.

Only after filling the entire tray with ice and water chilled overnight does this thing have any cooling effect and even than, it's only for an hour or so.
Anything less then ice and ice water will do nothing more than generate humidity and waste power.
Save your money and buy a real AC unit for supplemental cooling.

(More customer reviews)We bought this unit because we were delighted to find an ice cream maker that allows you to make SMALL amounts, and even better, three different flavors (it allows you to make three distinct pints). We used it relentlessly for two weeks, and couldn't manage to make anything thicker than a milkshake. Worse yet, most of the results, when frozen, were like the unfortunate consequences of melted and refrozen ice cream: you get a sweet treat that's as hard as a rock, and impossible to serve unless you have an icepick and a sledgehammer! We weren't willing to put egg in our recipes, but wondering if that was the problem, we tried a vegan egg replacement product: that ended up our most successful batch, but by that point we'd already felt as if we'd had to fight too hard with the darned thing, and we didn't want to be forced to make only recipes that called for eggs, so we returned it. We just ordered a Cuisinart ICE-20 from Amazon to replace it, because a friend has that same unit and it makes absolutely delicious, perfect ice cream! She's made many recipes _without_ egg, and they come out fine.

(More customer reviews)Back when we were making up our wedding registry, my then-fiance (now husband) really wanted an ice cream maker. The store we registered at had three options: the Krups, the Cuisinart and one that used salt. We chose the Krups based on its smaller size and touted ease of use.
The claims of ease were absolutely true! We keep the bowl of the machine in our freezer at all times so we're ready to mix up a batch of fresh, homemade ice cream with as short a wait as possible. The mixer is very strong and we've yet to mix up a batch too thick for it. It's also a breeze to clean up. You wouldn't believe the raves we've received on the varieties of ice cream we've made. What more could you ask for?
Another reviewer mentioned the scarcity of recipes that came with the machine. To be honest, we've never tried any of them. The most requested batch we've made came from "Williams-Sonoma's Ice Creams and Sorbets" book - it's the recipe for Cantaloupe Sorbet with Minted Melon. We've also found Ben & Jerry's book to be a winner as well.

Blendtec The Professional's Choice 1560-Watt Total Blender Review

(More customer reviews)This is a powerful blender, and is comparable to the VitaMix. I love the square design of the container, because it is easy to clean - way easier to clean than the VitaMix, and the blade at the bottom is not sharp, so I don't nick myself when cleaning the bottom of the blender. It is also much easier to scrape the blended goodness out of the bottom of the blender. But I don't like the lid design. The lid is flat and sits flush against the top of the blender. It gets splattered from the force of the blended ingredients. Makes a mess when you open it. This is a real problem when blending in between adding ingredients. Also, the plunger sometimes IS needed - even with a BlendTec, although Blendtec says it is not needed because of the variable speeds on its blender settings. There are times when I wish I had the plunger to just push things down while the blender is on. Instead, I have to take the lid off, which is dripping all over with blended goo, thus making a mess, so I can stir the ingredients because there is no plunger to push the food down into the blades like the VitaMix.
I have owned a Vitamix for 15 years, and it has proven to be a workhorse. The Blendtec seems to be just as strong, and I welcome it to my kitchen. It seems to do an even better job of grinding grains than the Vitamix. No "dry" container is needed. You just use the same container for both wet and dry ingredients. You don't really need a grain mill if you have the Blendtec, as it really does a very good job of blending grains and dry beans very quickly. It also makes nut butters almost instantly.
Overall, the Blendtec is extremely powerful, and meets my needs for what I use it for - I do daily green smoothies. I just wish it had a different lid, and a plunger.

(More customer reviews)We bought this soft serve ice cream/frozen yogurt maker for my cousin for her birthday, and When we tried it the first time we thought maybe we just put too much liquid in the first time, so we tried a different recipe. That one also did not freeze. It does not seem to get cold enough for ice cream. But instead you get to eat some ice cream soup. Personally I like ice cream soup at the end of my ice cream (reminds me of childhood sitting at the table with my brother and us stiring our ice cream till it was soup), but do not like to start with it. I would definitely not buy this product ever again. In fact we are planning on sending it back.

(More customer reviews)This is an awesome blender. It blends stuff like you've never seen before and I am really pleased with it. But holy cow is it LOUD!! The cat hates me. I got a pair of earmuffs from the shooting supply place to wear while using it. Maybe overkill, but I think that using it twice a day without them would result in hearing damage eventually. I wish they sold an enclosure for this one like they do for the commercial ones....I'd definitely buy one.
I bought this because I had a juicer and liked it. But I felt that tossing all that pulp and fiber had to be making me miss out on a lot of health benefits. And just trying to spoon some of it back into the juice doesn't work, it's gross. This blender blends whole fruits and vegetables wonderfully, I can still get the fiber and in a drinkable form.
After I bought this, I read a webpage where they talked about blending an avocado WITH the pit, and I tried it. It works, I ended up with an amazingly smooth mousse-like creamy pudding. Not something I'd do every day, but it was very interesting. I have been making kale banana blueberry smoothies for breakfast and it blends everything into one homogenous shake. No bits of leaves, chunks of stuff, etc. I'm enjoying it. I just wish it wasn't so loud.
