I use it in my 30' 5th wheel trailer for times when I need ice for side trips, for pot luck dinners or just a nice ice cold drink. The unit is on the heavy side and has a drain on the lower side. I put it on the back side of my counter near the sink. It lets you know when the tray is full of ice or if you are low on water by flashing red lights. It makes 10 little mushroom top shape cubes about every 6-10-12 minutes. (depends on setting). I keep some zip lock bags handy to toss the "cubes" in the freezer. The storage compartment is insulated but not refrigerated, so the cubes will melt after a while. I find it handy for filling my portable cooler to keep my food a drinks cool during my side trips. It is small enough to keep in the bottom of the closet when not in use. Some people say it in noisy. It has a pump for the water, it has a chiller, it has a fan, and some moving internal parts. It makes noise and I would not have it in my bedroom at night. It is on the expensive side for something that is "nice to have" but if you have ever waited for an RV ice maker, you might want this.
