(More customer reviews)I am SOOOOO happy that I made this purchase. I have been wanting to get an ice maker for a long time, but did not know which one to get since there are so many in the market! Plus apparently, not very many people review ice machines!
Let me start by saying that I consider myself an ice snob. I dislike ice trays, they are a pain in the butt to fill, you have to wait forever for them to be ready and it doesn't freeze clear. I also tend to forget to buy ice until I am already halfway home. This is the perfect solution! I was a little hesitant to spend $200 on it, but in reality ice costs about $3 a bag and during summer days, I am buying at least a bag a week, if not more. (At least that's how I justified the cost!)
I agree with one reviewer, the finish had some imperfections, but lets be realistic. I bought the machine for ice, not how "pretty" it looks. Be sure not to tilt it when unpacking and the instructions tell you to wait 2 hours before using it. The first batch took about 40 minutes to produce, the second batch was about 10-15 minutes. I'm working on the third batch now. THE ICE FREEZES CLEAR, JUST LIKE THE ICE YOU BUY AT THE STORE!!!!!!!!! The ice doesn't have any sort of "plastic" taste like how some other ice machine reviewers complain about. The machine has a small and large ice setting, small produces clear cubed ice about half an inch by half an inch. Also, note that the machine does not keep the ice frozen, it sits in a basket and if you do not bag and freeze it yourself, it will melt and go back into the water reservoir.
Anyways, obviously I have only had the machine for a day, but so far I am super happy! I hope it lasts awhile!
